JAVA EE Developer

Our team members are currently providing mission-critical application development and support services to civilian agencies within the Federal government. We are seeking a JAVA EE Developer to join our team.
As the outstanding Enterprise Java EE Developer, you will design, develop and maintain enterprise Java applications while working closely with members of NexGen and client teams, including subject matter experts, Technical Leads and Project Managers.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related scientific or technical degree or equivalent experience with at least 2 years experience in Java EE application development. Experience in Java EE application development and ability to work well within a diverse team required. Excellent communication and good time-management skills along with enthusiasm, attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of projects are necessary. The successful individual will possess the following skills, knowledge, experience and abilities:
• Strong background in Java programming language
• Understanding of object oriented concepts, design patterns and various open-source toolkits and frameworks
• Familiarity with all aspects of software development life cycle
• Ability to pass a federal background screen
• Working knowledge of Apache/Struts is highly desirable
• Application development experience on Weblogic Application Server platform with an Oracle backend is a strong plus
• Demonstrable proficiency with:
- SQL
- Eclipse IDE
- Apache Web Server, Tomcat or another industry standard Application Server platform
- Oracle database
- SOAP based Web Services
- XML
- CVS, Subversion
- Windows XP and Unix (Solaris and Linux) operating systems
