Information Planning Associates, Inc. (IPA) is a systems design, development and administration company specializing in web-based, database driven systems for the DoD. We have over thirty years experience with US military and local government financial data systems and are currently seeking a Software Developer to join our team!
Software Developer
Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems. Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams. Provides technical support to project team members. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field with 1 year of JAVA programming experience and 2 years of object oriented programming experience. Oracle Database (9i/10g), design, development and validation experience required. The successful individual will possess the following knowledge, skill and/or abilities required for this Software Developer position:
• Proficiency with J2EE and the fundamentals of object-oriented programming, including software design concepts and design patterns
• Experience in various phases of project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, software design, development and testing
• An understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and its components as well as experience with general approaches to programming and programming concepts (i.e. code deployment and execution, debugging, logging, etc)
• Approximately 90% of the time doing hands-on code development
Not Required but Beneficial:
• Knowledge of EJB, JSP, JDBC, JMS, JNDI, JAAS, Struts, Tiles, Hibernate, Spring
• The use of service-oriented architecture within a federal enterprise
• Experience with Microsoft IIS, Apache HTTPD server and Apache Tomcat
