Explanation for Position:
This position is to permit the Corporate Database Support department in Mahwah to assume IMS database support responsibility for several Louisville applications (ACARS, COMPASS, Load Handling and MESCO.)
Details of Position:
Maintain IMS databases on Mainframe z/OS; PSB & ACB gens. Technical interface to Application development teams & other Support groups in Louisville & New Jersey. Will carry up to 2 pagers (personal & DRM secondary support). Will support numerous IMS environments (production, development, disaster recovery).
Responsible for maintaining Corporate and local standards, as well as documenting system changes. Interface with users/project teams on design & technical
architecture. Will monitor, evaluate, and tune IMS database performance, reliability, availability, capacity, as well as data recovery. Must be on-site Memorial Day & Labor Day weekend (Sunday only) to participate in a simulated disaster recovery failover / failback for the Airline. The simulation takes approximately 16 hours.
Management Skills:
20+ years in IT with 10 in Data Resource Management supporting IMS databases.Technical degree in IT (or equivalent). In-depth knowledge of IMS V9 required. DB2 V8 or higher desired. IMS Boole & Babbage, IMS DB/DC, DBRC, IRLM & BMC tools, IMS File-Aid, MS DBCTL, Fast Path databases, Relational database constructs, Recons, Change Accum, Bit Mapper, DFSDDLT0. Outstanding communication skills, heavy emphasis on customer satisfaction, Desire & ability to work in a team oriented environment, Ability to work with little supervision, Excellent analytical skills.
