Incumbent will manage the Software Application team throughout the definition, design and implementation processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the Software Application Team including all appraisals, training, work plans and scheduling.
Development and adherence to annual Software Engineering plan.
Provide input to the planning process. This will include project planning, work estimates and identification of issues/tasks.
Drive and maintain significant new developments in relevant technology and standards.
Initiate and implement processes/activities to improve quality and decrease time to market.
Develop best practices and competencies for team.
Manage all agreements with contracting agencies and/or third parties.
Develop software requirements.
Provide strategic direction to development team including definition and implementation of design guidelines.
Direct the design, implementation and validation of software.
Design test parameters and assist in test performance.
New Product Development
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other scientific discipline
· Master's Degree preferred
· Minimum of five years experience in software design and implementation combined with a minimum of three years as software team lead or manager.
· Strong software development experience in object-oriented environments.
· C++ programming experience
· Knowledge of Microsoft COM technologies
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
